Woodheads AB was formed to handle the intellectual property from 44 leading researchers at Umeå Plant Science Center in Umeå, Sweden (one of the world's best academic environments for forest biotechnology research) and the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. A few researchers from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala (SLU), Uppsala University and Stockholm University are also part of Woodheads.

SweTree Technologies has the right to all innovations in plant and forest biotechnology emanating from the members of Woodheads. As such, Woodheads AB provides unique research and the generation of innovations that propel our development of commercial offerings. Discoveries are carefully selected and patented before being brought to market by SweTree Technologies.

In the future, we anticipate that SweTree Technologies will also handle intellectual properties in forest biotechnology (where relevant to the company's business areas) that emanate from other research institutes in Nordic and other countries.

Woodheads AB also provides knowledge and support to the Gene Discovery Platform, other research programs and collaboration projects run by SweTree Technologies.
